The breeze was blowing gently on this all too quiet evening. I walked down the road, immersed in very deep thought about nothing at all, when I heard a sharp cry from my left. I looked up to find K grinning beside me. "Was that really necessary?
"I'm sorry, but it was completely worth it", he said, with not even the slightest guilt.
I glared at him but eventually broke into a smile. He was hard to stay mad at.
"So, why are you here? Where are you headed?", I asked
"I'm going out to buy some...". He was interrupted by a loud deafening noise.
"Some what?", I shouted
His lips moved but there was no sound.
"What are you saying? And what is that noise?"
"... shouting?", he growled.
"This is not funny, K. You have to stop that!"
"Stop what?", he said in the same growling voice, as he peeled off the skin on his face like a mask, to reveal a monstrous face with great ugly scars. He looked very concerned. He held my hand but the tentacles were wrapped too tight around my wrist. I screamed in horror, as I broke free. I ran as fast as I possibly could, but I didn't move. My legs were moving, and I kept running but I was in the same spot. The ground started to rise in a rhythmic wave like motion. The trees around me were inching closer and closer, hissing angrily at me. The growling sounds grew louder. The ground began to make flapping noises as it rose up and fell down periodically. I screamed, but I couldn't hear myself.
A million rats came racing towards me but they were stopped. They seemed to be hitting a wall, an incredible blackness that was setting in. Somewhere far away, a gong sounded six times as I collapsed into the blackness.
